This online portfolio is a collection of writing samples using design projects as visual vocabulary and illustration.

It was started in winter of 2024 and its development will continue indefinitely

"as the spirit moves me," in the words of Flannery O'Connor. The spirit typically moves me here when I am deliberating some decision, big or small.

[This is what I do. I welcome people.]

Welcome.

Through the intentional design of processes, products, and environments, I improve the workplace, and help people feel like they are contributing to something important. Because they are.

I am a communications specialist with a passion for designing change that makes life better in the place where most of us will spend the majority of our waking hours: Work.

Is "work" a noun or a verb? It can be either, but when you have a conversation with someone between the ages of pacifier and cell phone and ask them what work is, they almost always describe it as a place. After that age, they begin to think of it as an action, either because it is something they do themselves, or because they see their elders working, thinking about work, and talking about work (aka working) at home, and everywhere, all the time.

I can't change that. What I can change is how we perceive that time, and how much we can do with it.
